Amir Torns

Amir Torns is a freelance photographer and student-athlete based in Austin, Texas, currently attending Westlake High School.

He is a reporter for VAR Austin and ESPN 102.7, where he covers sports and storytelling through both writing and photography. Amir has contributed photography to the University of Texas Police Department and works with MileSplit Texas, MileSplit, and FloTrack, capturing high-level track and field competition across the state at the high school, collegiate, and pro levels.

In addition to his professional work, he is a contributor to the Westlake High School yearbook and newspaper, documenting student life and athletics. Amir has also freelanced for organizations including the Austin Spurs and the Round Rock Express, continuing to build experience in fast-paced sports environments.

His work focuses heavily on sports, and documentary style work, where he combines storytelling with dynamic, high-energy imagery to capture defining moments. As he continues to develop his craft, Amir is committed to growing as both a photographer and journalist.
